Meeting someone in person

  • Meet in a public place for the first few dates — a coffee shop, a busy beach, a food truck lot. Skip the remote trailhead until you know each other.
  • Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting. Share your live location if your phone supports it.
  • Arrange your own ride there and back. Don't depend on your date for transportation.
  • Keep the first meeting short and daytime if you can. A one-hour coffee tells you plenty.
  • Stay sober enough to make good decisions, and watch your drink.

Spotting romance scams

  • They push to move the conversation off-platform (WhatsApp, Telegram, text) within the first messages.
  • They can never meet or video call — deployed overseas, traveling for work, always an excuse.
  • Money enters the conversation in any form: emergencies, crypto opportunities, gift cards, plane tickets.
  • The profile feels too polished, and their story shifts when you ask details a local would know.
  • They rush intimacy — strong declarations within days are a script, not a spark.

Community guidelines

  • Be yourself. Use recent photos of you, your real first name, and honest details.
  • Be respectful. No harassment, hate speech, or explicit messages nobody asked for.
  • One account per person, and you must be 18 or older.
  • No commercial activity — no promotion, solicitation, or link-dropping.
  • Report, don't retaliate. If someone crosses a line, block and report them and let us handle it.
